WE MADE IT! The fourth quarter of the year is upon us and before you blink you’ll be decorating your tree, hanging the mistletoe and queuing those Christmas carols.
That alone is worth celebrating, given everything the world has gone through in 2020, but we’ve got one more reason to celebrate … the latest Facebook updates.
- Facebook Business Suite Rolled Out
The Business Suite is a single dashboard for your linked Facebook and Instagram accounts that allows you to post, message, advertise and view insights ALL IN ONE PLACE!
- New Ads Limit Per Page
This has certainly created a lot of talk and is a contentious issue for many. Facebook has introduced an ad limit on each Page, restricting the number of campaigns run.
It’s true that machine learning, improved algorithms and options like dynamic ads make it possible for businesses to run fewer campaigns overall, and maybe restrictions on ad volume will make it easier for ads to be approved faster or more reliably (no promises though!)
Overall, it’s not exciting to have limits, especially if you’re looking to scale, though adjusted ad spend may increase volume potential overtime.
- Data Checkups Are On Their Way
Facebook has made efforts to keep the platform transparent and to protect user privacy as much as possible. It tracks plenty of data, after all, but it is anonymous; brands can’t see the names of users who visited their sites, for example.
Facebook has thus announced the launch of a Data Use Checkup, which is an annual workflow for developers and businesses on the platform that will allow them to review the permissions they have access to.
They’ll also be asked to commit that their data use and API access comply with the terms of service and developer policies within 60 days.
As long as you’re on the straight and narrow, you should be good to go here, but keep an eye out for this and make sure you’re familiar with all the latest policies.
