Do you know your Custom Audiences?
At NGAGE, we are all about staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices. But sometimes, it’s important that we go back to basics. And this is where I recently took myself…back to basics with custom audiences.
Let’s start off by describing what custom audiences are before we can get into how they actually help brands generate leads or how they can influence your audiences to make purchasing decisions.
A Custom Audience is an ad targeting option that lets you find people who already know your business on Facebook. Custom Audiences help you incorporate the information you already have, to reach people on Facebook and Instagram, across multiple devices, in a way that protects your audience’s privacy.
Custom Audience can be generated from a couple of sources:
• Website Activity: Reach existing customers and those who’ve shown interest in your business. With the website activity, you install something that is called Facebook pixel which is a segment of code that you can copy and paste into your existing website. This pixel allows Facebook’s ad servers to recognize users across multiple devices — as long as they’re signed into Facebook. When someone visits your website and takes action the pixels is triggered and reports this information and the customer will start seeing ads that have to do with your brand. For example, when you visit the Toyota website, that information gets reported and when you log on to your Facebook page you will start seeing ads from that Toyota. What this does is it aims to get you to make a purchase decision.
• Mobile App Activity: Use Facebook ads to engage with people based on their interactions with your apps. Facebook’s software development kit (SDK) is the equivalent of the Facebook pixel, for mobile apps. Shopping app developers can use it to respond to events such as “item added to wish list” or “completed registration” to increase engagement and conversions. This also serves as a way to trigger you to make a purchase decision of what you have put in your “wish list” when you were on an online shopping app.
• Facebook Engagement: Reach people who’ve interacted with your Page, videos, lead ads and full screen experiences on Facebook.
In conclusion, using Facebook’s Custom Audiences will ensure that all your ads reach the people who matter to your business. They help you achieve your business goals and can assist in increasing leads. If you are looking to improve your Facebook ads and generate leads, Facebook Custom Audiences are the way to GO!
